Andrew Willins is a Senior Associate in the Litigation and Insolvency Practice Group. His practice focuses on giving early, tactical and practical advice, supported by extensive advocacy experience. He has appeared in a number of reported cases, with successful appellate advocacy including three appearances before the Court of Appeal, twice unled.
Andrew joined the group in the 2008. Prior to that he was at the chancery bar in London.
Andrew graduated from University of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1999 with an LL.B (Hons) and completed his Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law in London in 2000. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2000.
Representative work
Some examples of Andrew's previous experience prior to joining Appleby includes:
• an action for breach of copyright, breach of confidence and breach of fiduciary duty in relation to the misuse of a unique computer system;
• proceedings arising out of a corporate takeover fraud;
• restitutionary claims in relation to the alleged failure by a self-employed dentist to account to his principal; and
• contested lease renewals and applications for interim rent, forfeiture of commercial leases, litigation arising out of the unlawful forfeiture of commercial leases.
